A New Standard in Guitar Cable longevity
When Voltage Cable Co. first introduced ISO-COAT® technology to the guitar cable market in September 2024, it soon became a game-changer. For decades, guitarists worldwide have struggled with a common problem - cable failure.
Cable failure due to oxidation, moisture, and environmental wear has plagued guitarists, affecting their sound and reliability. We've had enough of dead cables.
From humble beginnings — as Voltage Cable Co.® started to establish itself, my team and I made a very clear decision: to set a new standard for what durability is and means, and to manufacture guitar cables that are not only inspiring to use, but that actually last a lifetime.
What truly matters to us is that you, the artist, receive a product that can stand the test of time — a product we can back with 100% confidence. We want our customers to focus on playing, not worrying about gear failure. That’s why our attention has been on developing the best-sounding, reliable guitar cables money can buy.
Let’s break it down ↓
Why Most Guitar Cables Fail
For the last 4 years in our little workshop in Sydney, we have been working tirelessly diagnosing, developing, testing, and innovating our way to a solution for this decades-old, industry-known problem we all know as cable failure.
Guitar cables, mic cables, speaker cables and instrument cables are all vulnerable to corrosion at the solder terminations. Over time, exposure to moisture, sweat, and humidity causes oxidation, leading to signal degradation, tone loss, and ultimately, cable failure. Musicians are often forced to replace their cables frequently, affecting their performance, wallet and not to mention the environmental impact.
This is where put our stake in the ground as an Australian company. Our innovative ISO-COAT® hermetic seal sets a new standard in the industry. We protect against corrosion and seal your cable so it lasts significantly longer than anything else available today. We back our cables with a lifetime warranty.
What Makes ISO-COAT® so Unique?
ISO-COAT® hermetically seals the entire cable assembly, preventing oxidation, corrosion, and atmospheric attack. The leading causes of signal loss, sonic degradation, and instrument cable failure.
With our patent-pending manufacturing process, we have redefined what durability means in the guitar cable industry. This isn’t just a tweak to existing designs—it’s a completely new standard of reliability and performance. My team and I are really proud to now be releasing our Australian hand made guitar cables with ISO-COAT.
Designed for any gig, any climate, anywhere, we can proudly say this is our stake in the ground as a boutique Australian company stepping up to deliver guitarists of the world a product that actually does what it says on the box.
Every guitar cable leaving our warehouse in Sydney now comes protected with ISO-COAT® — and a hand-stamped wax seal authenticity card symbolising our guarantee and innovative method.
Now lets talk about corrosion ↓
The Truth About Corrosion: How ISO-COAT® Protects
Understanding the effects of corrosion and oxidation is crucial for preserving cable performance and longevity.
-
Corrosion occurs when materials deteriorate through chemical reactions with environmental elements.
-
Oxidation happens when metal reacts with oxygen, forming metal oxides.
In cables, corrosion often appears as discolouration or a crusty green/white buildup on the connectors. See the big photo above !
Both processes compromise functionality, reliability — and ultimately, your sound quality.
Corrosion physically weakens the metal connectors, making them brittle and prone to breakage. This leads to poor electrical connection, signal loss, and interference.
Corrosion severely impacts guitar cables in multiple ways:
-
Connector Weakness: Corroded connectors become brittle, snapping or bending easily, causing failures.
-
Electrical Resistance: Corrosion creates resistance in the signal path, causing weak or intermittent signals.
-
Introduced Noise: Buzzes and hums creep into your signal chain, masking the clarity and richness of your tone.
-
Tonal Degradation: Dynamic range drops, nuances vanish, making it harder to achieve subtle, expressive sounds.
Some products on the market claim to offer protection against corrosion, but none offer the complete hermetic seal that ISO-COAT® provides. This isn’t a superficial coating or a temporary fix — it’s a structural, air-tight solution designed to permanently safeguard solder terminations and cable assemblies from the inside out.
ISO-COAT® technology is backed by extensive research and development, resulting in a patent-pending process that’s exclusive to Voltage Cable Co. We don’t just fight corrosion—we’ve prevent it.
Unlike simple external “coatings,” ISO-COAT® uses a true hermetic sealing method inside the cable’s critical points. Don’t be fooled by imitations or false claims, without a hermetic seal, corrosion can and will happen. Destroying your cables from the inside out leading to eventual failure.

Innovating Since 2021
My team and I have been working on this for a few years, actually since late 2021. When Voltage Cable Co. introduced ISO-COAT® to the market in September 2024, we knew it would change the ideas of what longevity is for guitar cables and how companies approach this matter. To us, it's one of the most important things when it comes to cables and guitar gear.
As the first and only company to use this hermetic sealing technology, we’ve led the industry in true anti-corrosion solutions and will continue to develop further enhancements for longevity and tone.
Dielectric vs. Hermetic
Most guitar cables rely on traditional dielectric insulation to protect the conductor, but this only solves half the problem. While dielectric materials or coatings insulate the conductor from electrical interference, they do nothing to prevent corrosion at the solder joints—one of the primary reasons guitar cables fail over time.
Traditional Dielectric:
-
Provides electrical insulation but does not seal out moisture, air, or contaminants.
-
Leaves solder joints vulnerable to oxidation and corrosion, leading to signal degradation and cable failure.
Hermetic Sealing ISO-COAT®:
-
Completely seals the solder joints and cable assembly, creating an airtight barrier that prevents corrosion.
-
Blocks moisture, oxygen, and contaminants from reaching the solder, ensuring long-lasting performance.
Patent-Pending Advantage:
Unlike standard dielectric solutions, ISO-COAT® uses a patent-pending hermetic sealing process exclusive to Voltage Cable Co., setting a new industry standard for durability and reliability.
ISO-COAT® is not just another insulated cable—it’s the only true anti-corrosion seal on the market.
The Future of Guitar Cable Durability
At Voltage Cable Co., we’re strongly committed to innovation. ISO-COAT® is just the beginning. As we continue to develop new technologies and designs, our promise remains the same. To end cable failure.
For guitarists who demand genuine lifetime durability from their gear and consistent connection to their music, Voltage Cable Co. is here to provide that small but crucial link between the artist and the expression - A premium reliable cable.
