The weak point.

Every guitar cable has a weak spot: the solder terminations. Without proper protection, moisture, humidity, and airborne gases can cause a chemical reaction called oxidation. This reaction eats away at the solder joints and copper.

We’ve all heard the famous “crackle.” Then what follows is the slow decay of your tone over time. Eventually, the cable will die and you’re left chasing warranty, or spending more money on a new product.

The Science of Corrosion.

What’s Happening Inside:

Corrosion doesn’t stay contained. It spreads.

Over time, oxidation eats away at the copper, breaking down the solder terminations and degrading the joints. Oxidation changes the electrical characteristics and conducting properties of the copper itself.

Once this reaction starts, the cable weakens both physically and sonically.

The sonic degradation part is what quietly destroys your guitar tone from the inside out.

Do other non ISO-COAT cables stop oxidation? NO.

Heat shrink, cheap subpar coatings or slapped on silicon seals don’t stop oxidation - very far from it. These weak attempts aren’t tested, proven or backed by a patent. They hide the problem. They don’t solve it.

The process

  • The Perfect Joint.

    It all starts with a perfect joint. Oxygen-free, with silver-solder and structurally sound. Even the best soldering isn’t immune to the nasties.

    That’s where ISO-COAT® comes in as the next level of durability and our guarantee.

  • Voltage Cable co. ISO-COAt seal

    the method.

    This is ISO-COAT® in action, a handmade process. Our techs hermetically seal the cable assembly to keep that silver solder protected and copper in tact.

    No shortcuts. A fully sealed, corrosion-proof connection built to last forever.

  • the curing.

    After we apply the seal, each cable is then cured for at least 24 hours before we add the final reinforcement and branding.

    This process takes place in a controlled environment, before final branding and heat shrink is applied.

  • The reinforcement.

    Heat shrink doesn’t hermetically seal or have any real corrosion prevention ability, but It helps finish the job. It adds an extra layer of structural integrity to our terminations and shows off our branding.

    It's applied on top of ISO-COAT, after the curing process and covers the seal completely.
